TUSCALOOSA | Shirley Deerman, age 64, of Tuscaloosa, died April 6, 2007 at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Jameson officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Her parents, L.L. (Bud) and Ruth Deerman, and brother, Edgar O. Deerman, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her brother, Charles G. Deerman, and five nieces.

Shirley was a life long resident of Tuscaloosa and retired from the University of Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Deerman, Paul Crane, Doug Freeman, Bobby Caffee, Richard Shirley, Larry Tucker, Don Gardner and Greg Marcum.

Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, Dr. John Summerford, Dr. George Hinton, Dr. Pedro Lopez, Dr. Gary Newsom, DCH 6th Floor nursing staff, employees of Rose Administration at the University of Alabama, and Wayne Williams Lawn and Landscaping.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama and Humane Society of West Alabama.
