Diana S. Nix

RALPH, ALABAMA

Diana Sanford Nix, age 65, of Ralph, died June 26, 2008, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Englewood Baptist Church with Bill Richards officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Her daughter, Tina Marie Nix, and her father, Elmer A. Sanford, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Nix; son, Michael Nix, and daughter-in-law, Susan; half-brother, David Sanford (Virginia); mother, Nellie M. Sanford; grandchildren, Brian Nix, Aimee Nix, Emilee Nix, and Sydney Nix; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Diana graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1960 and worked for Druid City Answering Service for 35 years. She was a DCH Volunteer for the past three years. She was an extremely loving wife, mother, Granny, and Woo Woo.

Pallbearers will be Brian Nix, Chuck Nix, Tim Nix, Billy Tingle, Gary Koon, Doug Etheridge, and Tony Schmitz, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto, 4th floor ICU, ER, and 8th floor staff, Hospice of West Alabama, Travis and Bonnie Deerman, JP and Linda Jones, Herbert and Kathleen Milligan, Steve and Pat Smith, DCH Volunteers, and Druid City Answering Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
